Change is a part of life. Sometimes this is welcome: trees bear fruit, children grow to adults. Other changes can be daunting.

We have been extremely busy with our learning in Year FOUR this week. Here’s what we have been up to…
In English, the children have planned and begun to write an outside narrative as if they were a polar bear.
In Maths, the children learned about finding the perimeter of rectilinear shapes.
In Music, the children have continued playing their cornets. Keep playing at home! The hard work now will be worth it.
In History, the children used hot seating to investigate the challenges of being a Tudor apprentice.
In RE, the children continued learning about the prophet, Elijah
In computing, the children learned about computational thinking and particularly, decomposition.
Cricket
Steve from Lancashire Cricket did a fantastic cricket lesson yesterday. The children did a great job developing their throwing, catching and rolling skills!
Fit2Go
Fit2Go is a curriculum based healthy lifestyle programme where the children will receive a one-hour classroom based lesson, as well as one hour multi sports physical activity session.
This week, the children learned the importance of a balanced diet and a daily hour of exercise.
Resilience team!
Wellbeing Wednesday has continued! We recorded a message for Paddy McGuinness.
The children also learned about the 4 aspects of health.
On Thursday, they completed a star jump challenge and today they did the same challenge with Key Stage 1 . It’ll be Key Stage 2’s turn on Tuesday!
At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.
Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.
This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…
What Parents & Educators Need to Know about Fortnite. This free guide provides expert insight into the risks associated with Fortnite, letting you know how to keep children safe while they play.
We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all. Thank you.
🌟 AWARD WINNERS! 🌟
The Golden Award went to Frazer, the respect, understanding and thoughtfulness he showed in PE was wonderful.
The Maths award went to Alicia for her effort in learning multiplication tables.
The Writing award went to George for a fabulous, emotive narrative.
📌NOTICES 📌:
Reading records, reading books and water bottles need to be in school every day, please.
Y4’s PE days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Earrings should not be worn on PE days.
Remember cornets on a Tuesday! If you don’t practice, you won’t improve.
Homework is available on the Y4 Homework section of the website, times tables and spellings will be tested next Friday.
Please keep sending your child in with their red water bottles. Air-Up and similar bottles are not appropriate for school, we have had a few issues with them leaking.
Catholic life
The following resources are a great way of keeping you all informed of our current liturgy themes and of the weekly Gospel scripture, with some activities that the children can complete at home. We hope you find these resources useful and that they help you to support prayer and worship in your own homes.
