We had a wonderful day on Thursday, celebrating the European day of languages. We learnt some Polish (thanks to Alicia and James), we learned about Maria Salomea Skłodowska-Curie (Marie Curie) We listened to some Chopin, heard an extract from Kaytek the Wizard, researched Poland and tried some very tricky wycinanki (paper cutting!)
We have been extremely busy with our learning in Year FOUR this week. Here’s what we have been up to…
In English, we have been planning and writing our setting descriptions. They are looking fantastic so far, with a really clear sense of modd.
In Maths, we been ordering numbers with 1,000s
In PE, we have practiced handball skills.
In Science we have continued our journey through the digestive system, focussing on how our stomachs work.
In RE, we learned more about God’s covenant with Abraham
Resilience team!
Wellbeing Wednesday has continued! This week we made small, positive gifts to hand out to others in the class. We also learned what is meant by the phrase mental health. If you have any questions about this, please let me know.
We are going to be leading a whole school Wellbeing Day on the 10th October, for this, children are encouraged to wear odd socks. We’ll be planning more details next week!
Times Tables Rock Stars
Each half term, the schools within the trust compete with each other on TTRS. This half term’s competition is already underway but we can still do our best to get as many points as we can from now till the 18th October. In addition to this, during our Celebration assembly on a Friday, our leaderboard will be announced. Please see the poster. Good luck everyone!

Please keep sending your child in with their red water bottles. Air-Up and similar bottles are not appropriate for school, we have had a few issues with them leaking.
