Well done Year 4, for another busy and fun week in school. We have enjoyed completing some festive activities in class this week and on Christmas Jumper Day we learnt and performed our own version of The Legend of the Robin Redbreast.
Next week is going to be another hectic and fun filled week, including Christmas Dinner and watching a Pantomime on screen in class on Wednesday. On Monday we will be singing some carols outside, so please make sure you come wrapped up with hats and scarfs. On Friday, we will have our own class Christmas party!
Also, don’t forget that the reading competition winners will be drawn next week - the prizes are ready, so make sure you are reading!
Sending best wishes to the children in class who are making their First Holy Communion this weekend, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
In our learning this week…
English - We have been completing some ‘talk for writing’ exploring the story of The Manchester Ridge-back Dragon’. Using our skills we then created our own elf themed stories, including detail to make our writing interesting and effective.
Maths - We have been learning about finding the perimeter of 2D shapes, the children enjoyed using string to measure the perimeter of shapes. We have started to think about methods and strategies we could use to quickly work out perimeters of 2D shapes.
Computing - We have been using ‘Scratch’ to produce some of our own simple animations, programming our sprite to spin, move, and talk. The children enjoyed making their projects winter/ Christmas themed.
Awards -
Golden Award Winner today was Dainton - Well done and keep up the good work!
