Maths - This week we will focus on numbers up to 50. This unit will develop the children’s knowledge of the numbers between 20 and 50. They will be able to count forwards and backwards to 50 and identify missing numbers in a sequence. This unit contains a focus on counting in 10’s and as there is no activity for Monday - I have added activities based on counting in 10’s.

For English, I have added an online unit based on listening to a story and writing about it - I have added this site because it has videos of the story and clear instructions as to what to do. Thought it would be straightforward for you all. Please follow the link below which will lead you to the story unit Honey and Trouble. This is a story unit which will focus on listening to a story, retelling the story and has a big focus on adjectives to help with the children’s own writing. Try to do three hours of school work - 30 minutes of Phonics and Reading, 45 minutes of English and handwriting practice, 45 minutes of Maths including Mental Maths (we are working on doubling and halving within 10, adding one more or one less to a number under 30 in class) and an hour of Topic based work in the afternoon. Just try your best - that is all I ask - I know it is very hard when you are working at home too.

Monday - RE today we will continue our new topic all about Following Jesus. Today we will hear about the story of the Good Samaritan and think about the acts of kindness that take place in this story. Tuesday - Science today we will start our new topic all about plants. Follow the video link for todays lesson. Lesson 1 How do I plant a bean?
In this lesson, we are going to be planting kidney beans. You will need soil, stones, a pot and a kidney bean but if you do not have these resources available, you can watch me plant a bean. We will be looking at what a seed needs to be able to grow into a healthy plant.

Wednesday - today we will start out new History all about Queen Elizabeth II and Queen Victoria. We will start by learning about Queen Elizabeth II - please take a look at the power point added and then fill in the fact sheet attached.
